Sheetz’s 24/7 locations have seen incidents of violence, particularly in the late-night hours. A recent shooting occurred at 2 a.m. at a Sheetz station – just one of many examples.
With continuous late-night activity, a Sheetz station could become a magnet for crime, straining local law enforcement and compromising community safety.
Noise and light pollution from 24-hour gas stations disrupts the suburban tranquility that our communities value. Residents near Sheetz stations report sleepless nights from the constant noise and bright lights.
They are infamous for bringing risks of soil and water contamination through fuel leaks, as seen in past EPA citations against Sheetz. Protecting Michigan’s environment and air quality is a priority we cannot compromise.
A 24/7 gas station can lower property values and deter families from moving into our neighborhoods. Sheetz stations are commercial entities that don’t align with our residential character.
Talk to your neighbors. The more people who understand the risks, the stronger our voice.
Let your representatives know you oppose Sheetz in our community. Demand zoning laws that prioritize resident welfare.
Make your voice heard! Join us for community protests and city hall meetings to show our strength in numbers.
